Pistol Courses:

DEFENSIVE PISTOL I
                                                                                                                                    Cost $90
                                                                                                                      

This is a six to eight-hour course. This course if for those individuals with a basic knowledge of pistol shooting gained through the NRA Basic Pistol Course or other introductory training.  Participants will build on the basic tasks learned to carry their firearms and use them for basic defense.  Topics include re-emphasis of safety, characteristics of the pistol, pistol maintenance, shooting fundamentals, gear placement, ready positions, drawing from the holster, and reloads and malfunctions.  Through demonstration and practice, participants will learn the movement for drawing the firearm from the holster to presentation. Students will also learn how to identify types of malfunction and take the logical steps to efficiently correct them. Students should expect to shoot approximately 300 rounds of ammunition.

Defensive Pistol I is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters who have successfully completed a basic pistol course or otherwise obtained this level of proficiency to maximize what can be learned from this course.  to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm) to maximize what can be learned from this course.  Students who have not taken a basic course with FPNP may be asked general questions regarding basic experience at registration.  A list of required gear will also be provided.


DEFENSIVE PISTOL II                                                                                            Cost $125

This is a six to eight-hour course that expands on the information taught in Defensive Pistol I. Topics include re-emphasis of safety, characteristics of the pistol, pistol maintenance, shooting fundamentals, gear placement, ready positions, drawing from the holster, reloads and malfunctions, recoil management, multiple shots, multiple targets, and shooting positions.   Through demonstration and practice, participants will learn the movement for drawing the firearm from the holster to presentation. From these basic skills, the training will progress into more challenging shooting drills that will reinforce fundamentals while providing lessons that can be practiced to maintain skills. Students will also learn how to identify and correct malfunctions and efficiently reload their firearm. Students should expect to shoot approximately 300 rounds of ammunition.

Defensive Pistol II is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters  who have successfully completed Defensive pistol I, or current law enforcement or military pistol training.  Basic pistol training equivalent to Defensive Pistol I taken with another company will be assessed on a case by case basis.  A list of required gear will also be provided.


PPC SHOOTING:
  SHOOT THE PRACTICAL PISTOL COURSE                             Cost $100
The Law Enforcement Standard Course of Fire! 

This is a six hour course that reaffirms the skills learned in Defensive Pistol I and II and puts them into practice.  Topics include re-emphasis of those skills taught in Defensive Pistol I and II and adds the element of time.  Students will be walked through the law enforcement practical pistol course of fire which includes the mandatory use of previously learned skills.  A great culmination and test for Defensive Pistol shooters.    Students should expect to shoot approximately 300 rounds of ammunition.

PPC Shooting is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters who have successfully completed Defensive Pistol I and II, or current law enforcement or military pistol training.  Pistol training equivalent to Defensive Pistol I and II taken with another company will be assessed on a case by case basis.  A list of required gear will also be provided. 

TACTICAL PISTOL I                                                                                                  Cost $200

This is a six to eight-hour course that evolves from the defensive principles taught in the above courses and delves in to tactical techniques.  Topics include re-emphasis of safety, the topics covered in Defensive Pistol I through Shooting PPC, drawing from the holster, alternate shooting positions, ground fighting, standing and walking turns, shooting on the move, shooting moving targets, and tactical use of cover.  Students will also practice identifying and correcting malfunctions and efficiently reloading their firearm. Students should expect to shoot approximately 300 rounds of ammunition.

Tactical Pistol is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters who have successfully completed The Defensive pistol trioI, or current law enforcement or military pistol training.  Basic pistol training equivalent to Defensive Pistol I taken with another company will be assessed on a case by case basis.  A list of required gear will also be provided.


TACTICAL PISTOL II                                                                                                    Cost $200

This is a six to eight-hour course that enhances the concepts from Tactical Pistol I.  Topics include re-emphasis of safety, the topics covered in Tactical Pistol I, drawing from the holster, alternate shooting positions, ground fighting, standing and walking turns, shooting on the move, shooting moving targets, tactical use of cover, one-handed manipulations, long range engagements, basic house movements and one-person structure clearing, concealed use, defensive and retention shooting, low-light and flashlight techniques.  Students should expect to shoot approximately 300 rounds of ammunition.

Tactical Pistol II is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters who have successfully completed Tactical Pistol II, or current law enforcement or military pistol training.  A list of required gear will also be provided.
